Vacuum Annealing

When a material needs to be softened and keep a bright finish, vacuum annealing is used. Vacuum annealing or bright annealing is used to improve formability and machinability through the reduction in internal stresses and improved microstructural characteristics. Finished parts can be annealed using this process without worry of damage to its appearance. KHT also offers vacuum tempering to maintain the clean finish after hardening in a vacuum.
